The flight to Dili from Singapore is a regular scheduled flight – flying three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flying time is 3 hours 45 minutes. Air Timor charters these flights from Silkair, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.

Please allow approximately 2 hours connecting time to another international flight.

Passports must be valid and hold a minimum of 6 months validity from return date.

The Aircraft Servicing the Direct                Singapore-Dili routes

Air Timor is currently chartering an A319 aircraft from Silk Air to service the direct Singapore-Dili routes. The A319 offers 8 Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats.

Occasionally Air Timor will upgrade the aircraft type to an A320 which offers more seats with 12 Business Class seats and 138 Economy Class seats.

  • Before You Fly

Before you fly

As a responsible traveler who wants a hassle free experience, we suggest following the 3 golden rules of travel preparedness :

  1. Have at least 6 months validity on your passport. (With less than 6 months validity, you may not able to fly  to your destination);
  2. Obtain the necessary & correct visas and travel permits for the country you are travelling to;
  3. We highly recommend you purchase comprehensive travel insurance for your entire journey so you can travel with a peace-of-mind.

TRAVEL PLANNING

It is your sole responsibility to make all necessary travel arrangements, and to ensure compliance with all laws, government regulations and orders associated with all points of travel. Prior to making a Booking, you should consider and obtain information about topics, such as, but not limited to:

  • Entry requirements – visas and identifications;
  • Medical requirements – including inoculations/ vaccinations; and
  • Destination information – risks to health and safety.

Air Timor is strictly a point to point carrier and shall not be responsible for any connecting flight arrangements which you may choose to make.

In the event of Unforeseen Delays or Diversions Air Timor will certainly assist as much as possible and within existing Ticketing Terms and Conditions or conventions, however we recommend you immediately contact your Travel Agents and/or other Airlines directly for any connecting international flights. (Comprehensive travel insurance may further cover you for additional cost).

TRAVEL INSURANCE
As travel involves many risks, we strongly recommend that each passenger is covered by Comprehensive travel insurance for the entire journey, which can provide coverage in events such as, but not limited to:

  • Plans change / trip cancellation;
  • Medical and hospital expenses;
  • Personal injury and death; and
  • Delayed, damaged or lost Baggage.

 BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
Air Timor may apply extra charges for checked baggage in excess of their permitted allowance.

All Checked Baggage and Cabin Baggage must comply with applicable size and weight restrictions. Air Timor reserves the right to examine the contents of any cabin baggage, irrespective of the type or category of cabin/checked baggage subject to conventions.

DANGEROUS GOODS (HAZARDOUS MATERIALS)

For safety reasons, dangerous goods must not be packed in checked or cabin (unchecked) baggage and cargo. Dangerous goods include but are not limited to: compressed gases, corrosives, explosives, flammable liquids and solids, radioactive materials, oxidizing materials, poisons, infectious substances, and briefcases with installed alarm devices. For security reasons, other restrictions may apply.

SECURITY & SEARCHES
Your safety and Security is important to us, as such Air Timor, the appointed airport or government staff / officers may:

  • Require you to submit to clothing and body searches;
  • Require you to submit your Baggage to searches or inspections; and
  • Search or inspect your Baggage with or without you present.

As a result of a search, or if you refuse to submit yourself or your Baggage to a search, we may refuse to carry you and your Baggage, and may deliver your Baggage to government or airport officers. In the event we refuse to carry you after your refusal, your ticket may be forfeited without refund, at Air Timor’s sole discretion.

Travel Planning Check In

DILI AIRPORT, Timor-Leste :

Check-in counters at Dili are open as follows :

MI 295            DIL – SIN        12:30 p.m. – 2:40 p.m. Local Time

To enable a stress-free check in to and from Dili, ensure you have sufficient time for check-in by arriving at the airport 2 hours prior to departure time.

Please ensure that you are at the boarding gate no later than 45 minutes prior to departure time. The departure gate will close 15 minutes to departure time and no boarding calls will be made. If you are not at the boarding gate by this time, you will miss your flight to Singapore and to Denpasar, Bali.

CHANGI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Singapore :

Check-in counters at Singapore are open as follows :

            MI 296            SIN – DIL        07:00 a.m. – 08:45 a.m.

Check in counter in Singapore is at Terminal 2.

The boarding gate will close 10 minutes prior to departure time.

Please ensure that you are at the boarding gate no later than 15 minutes prior to departure time. The departure gate will close 10 minutes to departure time and no boarding calls will be made. If you are not art the boarding gate by this time, you will miss your flight to Dili.

Check list for Check in :

  • No liquid, aerosols or gels with a capacity of 100 ml or greater in carry-on baggage.

Planning your connecting flights to Dili and from Dili

TRANSITTING PASSENGERS

Passengers in transit to Dili or from Dili to another destination will have to process your boarding pass at transfer Desk E at terminal 2, Changi International Airport by presenting the following documentation :

  • Your current passport with minimum of 6 months validity;
  • Valid Travel documents, i.e. airline ticket/e-ticket/travel itineraries;
  • Visa, if required;
  • Baggage tag slips

Some tips for smooth transit:

  • Check the Flight Information Screens for your departure terminal, departure time and gate number;
  • Ensure you are at your departure gate at least 30 minutes prior to departure;
  • If you are unsure on where you need to go please check with Changi Information Service counters;
  • All departure gates at Singapore’s Changi Airport close 10 minutes before flight departure;
  • If you have some spare time, Changi Airport offers a host of activities for your enjoyment.

Please note that Air Timor flights to Dili depart from Terminal 2 at Changi International Airport, Singapore. Should your transit flight be departing from other terminals the following procedure should be followed:

Connecting from Dili to a flight departing at Terminal 1:

  • During check-in at Dili, advise check-in staff of the connecting flight so that all checked baggage can be interlined to your final destination;
  • Upon arrival in Singapore, proceed to the Skytrain within the transit area to Terminal 1;
  • At Terminal 1, approach Transfer Desk C or D for boarding pass processing and present your baggage tags to the staff to allocate your baggage to the continuing flight;
  • Upon collection of your boarding pass, ensure you are at the departure gate at least 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Connecting to Dili from a flight arriving at Terminal 1:

  • During check-in at port of departure, advise check in staff of your onward flight to Dili on MI296 / 6C 8828 at the check in counter and request that your baggage be interlined through to Dili;
  • Upon arrival in Singapore, proceed to the Skytrain near station D to Terminal 2;
  • Upon arrival at Terminal 2, proceed to Transfer Desk E and collect your onward boarding pass to Dili. You MUST ensure you present your baggage tags to the Check-in staff to enable transfer of your baggage from terminal 1 to the aircraft bound for Dili at Terminal 2;
  • Please ensure you are at the departure gate at least 15 minutes prior to departure time.

Connecting to Dili from a Flight arriving at Terminal 2:

  • During check-in at port of departure, advise of your onward flight to Dili on MI296 and request that your baggage be interlined tagged through to Dili;
  • Upon arrival in Singapore, proceed to Transfer Desk E to collect your boarding pass to Dili. You MUST ensure you present your baggage tags to the staff to enable transfer of your baggage;
  • Please ensure you are at the departure gate at least 15 minutes prior to departure time.

Connecting to Dili from a flight arriving at Terminal 3:

  • During check in at port of departure, advise your onward flight to Dili on MI296 and request that your baggage be interlined tagged through to Dili;
  • Upon arrival in Singapore, proceed to Skytrain station A or B to Terminal 2;
  • Upon arrival at Terminal 2, proceed to Transfer Desk E and collect your onward boarding pass to Dili. You MUST ensure you present your baggage tags and passport to the staff to enable transfer of your baggage;
  • Please ensure you are at the departure gate at least 15 minutes prior to departure.

Connecting from Dili to a flight departing at Terminal  3:

  • During check-in at Dili, advise check in staff of the connecting flight so that all checked baggage can be interline tagged to your final destination;
  • Upon arrival at terminal 2, check the flight information screens to confirm the departure gate number of your next flight;
  • Proceed to Skytrain Station E or F to terminal 3;
  • Proceed to the Transfer Desk (A or B) relative to your flight departure gate to collect your onward boarding pass to your final destination;
  • EXCEPT for the following airlines:
    Swiss International and United Airlines at transfer Desk C in Terminal 1;
    Cathay Pacific and Northwest Airlines at transfer Desk D in terminal 1;
    Lufthansa and Malaysian Airlines at transfer Desk E in Terminal 2
  • Please ensure you are at the departure gate at least 15 minutes prior to departure time

  • Baggage

Baggage allowance information for passengers travelling between Dili and Singapore

Checked baggage

It is always easiest to travel light, but in some occasions this may not be possible. Please ensure that all your checked baggage is within the baggage allowance, is labelled with identification tags and that your travel documents, medication and valuables are in your carry-on baggage. Please remove old/previous destination tags and labels.

Following are information on the baggage allowances on Air Timor:

Business Class :

  • Adults : 40 kg / person
  • Child : 40 kg / person
  • Infant : 10 kg / infant not occupying a seat

Economy Class :

  • Adult : 30 kg / person
  • Child : 30 kg / person
  • Infant : 10 kg / infant not occupying a seat

Special interest Travelers (Golf, Divers and Fishing) may receive an additional allowance of 10 kg per person. This is subject to request prior to travel date, please contact Dili Operations Manager or your Travel Planner for confirmation.

CABIN BAGGAGE

You may carry on board the articles listed below free of charge over and above your baggage allowance:

  • A lady’s handbag, pocket book or purse, which is appropriate to normal travelling dress and is not being used as a container for the transportation of articles, which would otherwise be regarded as baggage
  • An overcoat, wrap or blanket
  • An umbrella or walking stick
  • A laptop or note book computer
  • A small camera
  • A reasonable amount of reading material for the flight
  • Infants food for consumption in flight and infant’s carry basket
  • A fully collapsible wheelchair and/or a pair of crutches and/or other prosthetic devices for the passenger’s use provided the passenger is dependent upon them
  • Infant’s carrying baskets and wheelchairs may be used until boarding the aircraft, then will be stowed in the aircraft hold
  • Infant’s stroller provided the infant is on board the aircraft

All other articles including overnight bags, briefcases, laptops, ladies’ vanity cases, large size cameras etc, taken into the cabin as hand luggage are subject to following conditions :

  • Quantity : 1 piece
  • Dimensions : length + breadth + width (including protrusions) must not exceed 115 cm (45 inches) in total subject to stowability
  • Weight : up to 7kg
  • Business Class passengers may be allowed two items, subject to local country specific requirements, specific aircraft cabin space and stowage ability

LIQUID, AEROSOLS AND GELS – LAGS

The Singapore Government has now implemented restrictions on the carriage of liquids, aerosols and gels in compliance with new guidelines set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). These restrictions apply to international flights into and out of Singapore. Some common examples of liquids, aerosols and gels include:

  • All liquid including beverages, soups and syrups
  • Gels, including hair and shower gels
  • Pastes, including toothpaste
  • Creams, lotions and oils
  • Contents of aerosol cans including sprays, shaving foam, deodorants
  • Mascara
  • Liquid-solid mixtures
  • Any other items of similar consistency

Restrictions are as follows:

  • Liquids, aerosols and gels will be only allowed in cabin baggage if they are kept in plastic transparent/clear zipped-locked bags with volumes of not more than 100 ml each
  • The contents of the transparent/clear zipped-locked bags must not exceed 1 litre
  • Each person is allowed to carry only one such plastic bag
  • The transparent/clear zipped-locked bags must be removed from cabin baggage and presented to security personnel for visual examination

Medications and special dietary requirements, including baby formula :

  • Are permitted in cabin baggage
  • Must be removed from cabin baggage and declared to security personnel at the check point. These items may be subject to security check
  • Passengers with prescription medicine are advised to bring along supporting documentation (e.g. ID cards, letters from doctors) as verification

Duty-free purchases:

  • Liquid, aerosols and gels purchased from duty-free shops at Changi Airport, located after the security screening points will be allowed on board
  • However, these items must be packed in a transparent, sealed plastic bag. Receipts of the purchased duty free items must be attached or enclosed in the bag
  • Passengers going to Australia are advised to check with duty-free personnel before making their purchases.

BAGGAGE WEIGHT LIMITATION

Please ensure that your checked baggage does not exceed 32 kg per piece as this is in accordance with the local occupational safety rules. Passengers are required to re-pack their baggage if the baggage weight exceeds this limitation. This is in accordance to the occupational Health Safety Act and is not related to baggage allowance and excess baggage charges.

Should you have packaged fresh fruits and or vegetables as check in baggage, please ensure it is safely packed in a white styrofoam box, sealed with masking tape and properly marked. Goods packed with dry ice are subject to Dangerous Goods Regulations requirements checks. Please be advised that durian is not permitted on Air Timor.

EXCESS BAGGAGE

Excess Baggage Dili to Singapore or return          : US$ 10 or SGD 15 / kilo

Settlement of excess baggage in Singapore must be paid in cash or Credit Card.

Rates may change without prior notice and will be advised at time of check in at each destination.

LOST BAGGAGE

In the event of lost baggage, the passenger is required to immediately inform Air Timor airport representatives, complete a Lost baggage Form containing specific details of the lost baggage, baggage tag numbers and passenger contact details. Air Timor will commence a baggage trace with its partners to relocate the lost baggage. The passenger will be informed once the baggage has been located and how the baggage will arrive at the port.

Air Timor will NOT accept responsibility for the following:

Lost/Damage to baggage due to or arising from:

  • Wear and Tear – this includes cuts, scratches, scuffs, dents and marks that may occur during the course of handling
  • Over packing and from packing in dangerous or unsuitable containers
  • Baggage accepted under the conditions of the “Limited Release” Tag including items retrieved or confiscated by the airport authorities or security personnel
  • Fragile and perishable items (checked baggage)
  • Valuable items including money, jewellery, precious metals, silverware, antiques, heirlooms, securities, laptops and other electronic items, business documents, passports and other identification documents, product samples or medicines
