It is with deepest regret to inform you that the Board of Directors of Air Timor must announce the termination of Denpasar flights effective from 10th January 2017.
Air Timor together with its partners (Citilink Indonesia) brought the highest levels of service and safety to the route, using the latest aircraft and a globally accepted operator (Citilink Indonesia is not black-listed by the European Union).
Unfortunately these standards were not sufficiently supported by the Government, the public or the aviation industry and as a consequence to the lack of support towards our services, we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to immediately close these flights, with the last flight scheduled for Monday, 9 January 2017.
We would like to sincerely thank all those agents who have given us solid support throughout the many challenging moments to maintain this specific route – we appreciated your loyalty.
Singapore (Silk Air) flights will continue with a reduced frequency of twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday, commencing 12 January 2017) and we look forward to your continued support of this sector and its global international links.
The termination of Air Timor Denpasar service and the reduction in the Singapore route is solely due to the significant over capacity on the DPS-DIL-DPS sector, due the failure of suitable regulation by the Government of Timor-Leste. This failure by the Government has resulted in the reduction in the Air Timor route network, significant lay-offs within Air Timor and the surrender of any Timor-Leste airline opportunities to Indonesian carriers.
For cancellation of existing bookings you may have in the system, we wish to offer the following to your clients:
For passengers booked on January 10 – 15, 2017 the following will be provided:
Bookings departing Denpasar and departing Dili have automatically been transferred to Sriwijaya. E-tickets will be provided to passengers at time of check in and assistance for transfer to the Sriwijaya flights will be provided by our operations staff. Should passengers not want to travel on Sriwijaya, a refund will be provided subject to refund terms and conditions on Sriwijaya flights as tickets have already been pre-purchased by Air Timor.
For Passenger booked on 16th January onwards, the following options will be provided:
- Agency Refund: full refund of tickets already issued will be refunded in full to your agent account in our system, which will add to your credit amount. Please kindly provide reservations numbers to Air Timor Reservations staff to assist to process these refunds.
- Full refund directly to passenger: will require your client to complete a form indicating the reservations number and the total amount paid, which will be reimbursed within 30 – 60 days. The form of refund will be through Direct Transfer to the clients Bank Account in Dili, Singapore or AustraliaI have attached the form for you to kindly forward to your client should they choose to request for direct refund. See attached. Forms must be completed and submitted to our Reservations Call Center at Timor Plaza.
- Any reservations that have not been issued in our system will be automatically cancelled by the system within the next 24 hours, please kindly do not issue these tickets.
Air Timor commenced its first flight on August 1, 2008 and now after 8 years developing the aviation industry in Timor-Leste has had to rebuild its services and requires your continued support towards its development.
