AIR TIMOR APPOINTS SENIOR AUSTRALIAN CAPTAINS TO TRAIN TIMORESE PILOTS
Dili, June 4, 2016… Air Timor announced today the appointment of its first Chief Pilot Mr John Neall as well as another senior pilot position Head of Training and Checking Mr Tol Mofflin. An appointment made in line with Air Timor’s vision to develop the aviation industry in Timor-Leste internationally and domestically.
The 2 international calibre pilots will work closely, train and share their expertise with the recently appointed Air Timor Timorese pilots Julito Gonzaga and Sertinho Soares. Future plans for Air Timor will include employing other young Timorese to train in 2016/2017.
Captain Neall and Captain Mofflin will both be relocating to Dili by end of next week to start the necessary requirements to start off the domestic flights for Air Timor and targeting the third quarter to launch its domestic routes.
Ed Turner Chief Operating Officer of Air Timor said these two pilots just completed assessments and flight testing with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia and have been approved to hold these positions with Air Timor. The Pilots have recently completed training in the USA and Canada to operate Viking 400 aircraft and are also approved and licenced to operate many other aircraft types.
Both pilots previously held senior positions as Chief Pilots with well-known Australian Airlines and have extensive experience and qualifications.
